I don't expect we'll be able to play this here, but I wanted to share with all of you... Simone, Garvin, Elizabeth and I played a game called Fibble at the pier on Sunday, while Alyssa sat and watched. It was really a lot of fun!
Basically, you play Fibble like Scrabble, with each player having seven letter tiles at a time, and putting them down to make words, except here, they can't be words that exist beforehand, and you have to say how to pronounce and define the word you're making up.
So, first, here's the board at the end of the game:
And the words list in order:
Simone: Xosiotl
(Ksoceeottle)
A reptile, small-ish, (4 to 8 inch) usually gray, turns blueish-green when it lies in the sun. Stores the sun's energy and glows in the dark!
Elizabeth: Gheyps
(gapes)
plural, space between a boat and a dock, or between your back and your cape!
Chris: Slotgree
(slotgree)
the exact right amount of force necessary to have a coin accepted by a slot.
Garvin: Neptk
(Neptik)
In AI society, the practice of favoring AI with similar code to your own.
Simone: Hleat
(hleht)
The condition of being full for water, opposite of thirsty or parched
Elizabeth: Xunf
(zunf)
The act of face-planting into a pile of very loose, dry dirt, which poofs up around you.
Chris: Trioforc
(treeofork)
to split into three different paths
Garvin: Ricebt
(Reesebt)
Robot piloting slang insult, any imperfection in docking a ship.
Simone: Deotesm
(deeyutehsm)
The secret science of invisible shapeshifting lesser gods
Elizabeth: Wuayjie
(Why-gee-ya)
(adjective) a monk who isn't smart enough to be trained, but nobody says so.
Chris: Baoousie
(Bay-oo-see)
A young, pretty girl who hangs around the waterfront, more interested in boats than sailors
Garvin: Wanmagdt
(Wannmagt)
The transformation process the federal reserve reptile seawater-stealing aliens use to pass for human.
(transliterated from the alien language)
Simone: Qunva
(Kvunva)
The small fish-shaped demon which accompanies each mermaid. Pet-like, they each give the other advice.
Elizabeth: Viqind
(Vikind, with two long i sounds)
Pear-based liquor, consumed and shared by vikings.
Also the condition of being drunk on the liquor.
Chris: Iricawsa
(Ireekawsa)
The halfway points where the Iriquois would meet with neighboring tribes
Garvin: Nedlnea
(Nedlehnea)
Another Lizzerati term, the process of acclimating and adjusting to Earth's sun
Simone: Benlislotgree (Extending Slotgree)
(pronunciation lost?)
A mysterious island where the slotgree is infinitely forgiving.
Elizabeth: Flemebaoousiez (Extending Baoousie)
Fleembayoosies
The baoosies who are recognized among all other baoosies for knowing the most about ships (they insist on the z ending)
Chris: Raricebt (Extending Ricebt)
(Rareesebt)
An alleged Ricebt was proved to be not actually a mistake but a clever thing to do under the circumstances.
Garvin: Trioforci (Extending Trioforc)
(Treeofor-see)
Lizzerati term for the reconditioning and welcoming center under Denver airport. (with three conditioning chambers)
Simone: Xunfg (Extending Xunf)
(Zunfg)
groups of air elementals who make dust devils and play in them on a desert planet.
I hope you enjoy the record of our game!
PS: Oh, I know I made many mistakes recording this, so please post your nitpicks below.
